Hi all, I'm starting at Ross this Sept 06 and I really need help in terms of housing. As a girl, my main concern is safety and location to campus. The housing website is of no help. I would like to know, regardless of price, where is the best place to live in terms of location. I would like something very close to campus, well maintained property (if granted)......I'm sure that this is a concern of many 1st year students.....thanks for all the info....this site is amazing!:p

Safety is and should be an issue for BOTH sexes. Factors that contribute to safety on the island include outdoor lightling, distance from campus, neightborhoods, security of windows and doors, presence of narrowly placed bars on the windows, and whether or not you have a roommate. (That can be a plus or a minus, depending on the memory of the individual.) Having a cell-phone is a must. Traveling and crowds, not wearing flashy jewlery, and not dressing provacatively is always important factors. A big help with security is your ability and willingness to take the free Ross Transport Bus from campus to your door after 8 p.m.

I am locking this thread to prevent duplication of apartment-opinions. Please see:
