Try a few D.O. schools and the Caribbean as well. There are many factors, but you are a long shot. Best of luck to you.

dont listen to them.. u can get into med schools with a 3.2 gpa especially since you are a mathematics major.. it will depend on science gpa. but since math classes are usually included in that gpa i am not sure. if your medical school prereqs are mostly A's, i say u have a good chance. it also depends on the type of med school you apply to.. if u apply to a research med school backgrounds in say biomedical engineering, etc it will help you. anything like psych to philosophy will not. mcat makes up for gpa, gpa doesnt makeup for mcat. i would study hard for mcat, maybe get a medical research job using ur math skills. med schools are looking more and more at majors now. i am not making this up.. ive heard it countlessly from deans of schools of medicine, from med school professors, and from MDs/PHDs that do extensive research work with top med schools. Medicine is becoming less of an art and more of a science and biological engineering field.

If you are also willing to put in the extra 2 years- a master degree has never harmed anyones chances at med school

I feel like people are negative on this forum sometimes... If you have 3.2 or a lil above, and say mostly A's in premed reqe. then I say you do have a shot. But guess what, you may have to apply like 20 medical schools to increase your chance because you don't know which one will accept you. With a 3.2 you can def. get placed on the waiting list and if they need more students, you are in. I know people got in with 3.0 or even 2.9 but they went throught a lot of effeorts. Good luck.

Look at the book MSAR by the AMA. It lists all averages for all schools. You definately have a shot at a US med school as long as you have a good MCAT score and some very good LOR's and volunteer/outside activities. Grades only account for about 25%-50% for most schools.......

I've actually seen people get into US school with a GPA of 3.0, but they had a lot of other things on thier application. Not to mention an MCAT of about 37 or 39. So, it you go in and rock the MCAT and have some other good things under your belt it is possible. But, you need to have done at least B's in your pre-req. for medschool.
