I have never been a big fan of study groups but I have a feeling that they will be very important in some med school classes.
Is it common to form study groups or does it vary with each semester?
I haven't been a big fan of study groups myself. But for the best that should change, or at least I should give it a try. I just saw a poster recently at a med school nearby, and it depicted study groups as much much better retention/learning of material (compared to just re-reading it yourself, etc..lower on the list). It was up there, along with reciting/teaching/explaining the material to others.

the thing with medical school is, that just knowin the stuff or rather thinking that you know the stuff isnt gonna cut it. you have to be able to apply everything to everything and the best way to do that is to say it out loud, and having a study buddy is the best way.

But wait,
How can anyone organize such a complicated task? Don't worry, Ross pays a totally unqualified and unprofessional gypsie to get in the way of such a task. Go visit her at her office when she isn't busy downloading information off the internet which is all her job consists of. Study groups work for some people. You have to make sure everyone involved is beneficial and not just hoping to be taught the material from the others. Either way, you don't need that silly waste of money to do anything. You can organize it all on your own.
