Hey guys,
I just took the MCAT in April 2006, but have a previous score from April 2003 as well. If I apply before my April 2006 scores come in, will they evaluate my application based on the April 2003 score, OR, if I've indicated that I took the April 2006 MCAT, they'll wait until that score comes in to evaluate my application?
Basically, when would be the best time to apply then? Thanks.

They'd probably look at the one you mention and ask about the one pending. If it's not awful (below low 20's) use the one you have.

2.6 undergrad gpa (130 hours)
3.67 post bacc gpa (43 hours)
Previous MCAT: April 2003, 22R (PS - 7, VR - 7, ** - 8).
Having said that, should I still wait till April 2006 scores come out and then submit, or go ahead and submit now?

i agree with rdecastro. if your GPA were near perfect i would say that you should go ahead but if you get that MCAT score up 3 or more points i think you'd have a better chance.

If I do bump it up 3 points or more, and my GPA is as indicated, what is the likelihood of getting a spot in Jan 07 (assuming I turn that application in some time July)? Or am I looking at more like May 07? Sept 07?
Thanks.

from my experience you may have a good chance for a spot in Jan. I turned my application in at about that time and got an interview rather quickly. I wanted to get into the Jan 06 class AND they DID have seats HOWEVER the problem was housing on the island (I am brining my daughter georgia + a nanny). Therefore, the earliest they could offer me was Sept 06.
good luck

I just took the April MCAT too and I would wait until that score comes out. I didn't think it was that bad and maybe you got above a 27. Also you might want to consider SGU, AUC or Ross (which would want a higher score than a 22). That being said there is nothing wrong with Saba.

Thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it. I got a 28 on my last practice MCAT, so hopefully I'll score in the 26-29 range.
One quick question...I've heard of applicants not getting into their first choice for enrollment term (sometimes being placed in their 2nd or 3rd). Using your best guess, what do you suppose is the reason that some applicants get a flat out rejection from SABA (ie - is there a supposed GPA cutoff/MCAT score they haven't reached), or some other factor that I'm overlooking?

I don't think you even get an interview unless your grades/score are in the ballpark. Then, the interview is where you show your stuff - are you able to speak semi-coherently? Do you have some sort of personality? Can you adapt to living on what might be the smallest inhabited island (other than boutique resorts) on earth?
