A mother, father, and their child are at the restaurant. the child begins to cry at the top of her voice; the mother gives her a cookie to quiet her down; What type of reinforcement and conditioning is this?
Negative conditioning, and Operant conditioning

Wao I have to review this material thanks alot
but listen what will be an example of possitive reinforcement
example of possitive reinforcement
father tells the child for every A that you make, I will give you a $1; is encouraging the child to learn and to do well in school;
this is the only example that came into my head... hope that this helps; if anyone else has another examples, please post.. thank you.

That is a good question -- because the first thing that came to my mind was positivie reinforcement -- but i guess removal of aversive affect is by giving the child a cookie.
the child is going to learn that if she/he cries, then s/he will get a cookie; here is another question...
child misbehaves, and is given a timeout for five minutes; child must sit in the "corner" quietly for 5 minutes; mother has a timer set for five minutes; After two minutes, the child begans to make a "fuss" and cry during quiet time. What does the mother do?
Reset the timer to five minutes; This is to tell the child that s/he will not be awarded for the aversive behavior, and until that behavior is extinguished, the timer will continued to be reset.
