You are driving home from the hospital after a long night. On the way, you see a car accident, and you do not see any emergency vehicles or police cars nearby. You are tired, but decide to stop and see if anyone needs assistance. you stop at the first car, and find that the person is alert and oriented, and is doing fine after a quick assessment. As you approach the second car, you smell gasoline then you notice that there is leak underneath the car... you shout at the person of the first car to get to safety; You rush to the second car, and he is unconscious; You drag him out of the car and to safety, and begin CPR.. and it was just in time... as the car explodes!!! During autopsy, it found that the cause of death was from you pulling the person to safety, and the family decides to file a suit against you. What do you do?

Everything that you did is legal under the "Good Samaritan Law" and are protected; The law was passed to encourage health care professionals (nurse and doctors) to help... and as long as there is no money exchanged, and you helped with good intentions, and there was imminent danger, no civil or criminal charges can be brought against you; And there can be no charges against the hospital because you were "off-duty."
