Of note, I have not seen or heard of anyone matched into ortho. hmm, something I would have to consider...

ortho is rough to get even in the US. carib students getting the ortho route are very very few and far between...you basically would have to destroy step1, and seeing how the pass rate for IMGs for step1 is roughly 65%, and of those 65% many dont crack 220 the chances are slim and none. but good luck.

Even if step 1 scores are very good, does this mean the chances of getting matched into ortho would be still less for an IMG? I'm just trying to get a grip on the situation.

BTW, I thought I read that SMU's step 1 pass rate for the 1st sitting is 85%. Is this not true?

Overall - for all carribean schools combined the pass rate is about 65%

yes, it would be much less than for a US med student. also remember that ortho prematches.
