I am not sure if the Mentor list has been sent out. I am supposed to be one but haven't received anything as of yet. If anyone knows anything, please let me know. Also, I have a dissection kit with more blades than one will need as well as the grants dissector. Most say not to use the dissector or to just view it in the lab. I personally used it when studying some. If anyone is interested in purchasing these items let me know. 25.00 for all of them.
Also, please take this time that you have before starting to relax. Lay around and watch your favorite TV shows, eat at all of your favorite places, enjoy the nice gyms in the states and canada as well. And get ready for an experience.
We had a lecture from the new anatomy prof who did a great job. You guys shouldn't have any trouble with the two professors. Histo will be fine as well. No worries. Just study when you get here, stay on top of things as much as you can and remember to take time out for yourself. If you run out of time studying each day, move on and stay up with the daily lectures. Use the weekend to go back and learn what you missed then review that weeks material. Anyway, just a few words of encouragment and advice. I wish you all the best.

I got my mentor assignment with my dorm assignment, but my mentor has yet to contact me. I guess I'll meet her on the island.

What exactly is the mentor's role?

Mentor is just to help you out in case one needs help and some good advise. I think forums on valuemd does a great job with any questions.

Hope this helps,

Siddman

totally agree, but it is suprising how many people don't know about valuemd. I told all my incoming quad mates b/c they didn't know about it!

I think the mentors are a great idea, especially when you get to the island. reading about it on VMD is one thing, but actually getting to the island and experiencing everything is another. that said, VMD has been the greatest resource for me. The Saba posters are wonderful!!!!! thank you so much.

so, it's great to know Saba is looking out for the first termers as well as VMD. ah, we feel so blessed... :D

To all those that haven't been contacted by their mentor, it is because we haven't got the names of our mentee yet. I found out I had a mentee because he actually contacted me. So don't think they are not contacting you, they don't know who they are suppose to be a mentor for because the list was never sent to us. Contact your mentor and they will gladly help you out.

Salutations:

I agree. I signed up to be a mentor and am anxiously awaiting my mentee to contact me. I don't even know who I am assigned to as of yet. The suspense is simply killing me...
