Any Do's Get Neg Comments From Other Doc's Or Patients?

I wanted to hear from current D.O.'s in school or practicing. Do you hear any negative comments from other doctors or patients who look down at you or ask you "What is a D.O.?" Does it come up alot? I just wanted to know how bad the D.O. stigma is.

I suggest that anyone who is curious about this should go shadow a DO and see for yourself.

Once you are a practicing physician people know you as their Doctor, not as MD or DO. All the DO physicians that I've spent time w/ have only had the problem of too many patients (as do all doctors) and I have never once heard a patient ask or question the degree in the clinical setting.....that only takes place b/w arrogant pre-meds and occasionally the arrogant doctors that they one day become.
