I'm trying to get paperwork in order for a Texas license for a Russian med school grad. One of the difficult looking requirements is proving eligibility to practice medicine in Russia. How does this work? Are there now medical boards in Russia, and how does one contact them?

Is this a relatively rigid requirement on Texas' part? Would it matter that the applicant is board certified (6 years of approved training), licensed in 2 other states, and meets all the other requirements?

" Would it matter that the applicant is board certified (6 years of approved training), licensed in 2 other states, and meets all the other requirements?"

DID YOU ASKED the Texas State Board of medical examiners this question? They are the ones who can answer this, not anyone in this forum.

perhaps I should rephrase--anyone know of any Russian (or USSR) grads who went on to become fully licensed in Texas? How did they document their eligibility to practice medicine in Russia? Whom should one contact about this, especially outside of Moscow/St.Petersburg (ie Arhangelsk)?

For matter, is there an email address through which one might get good info from the Texas medical board? Usually these contacts are for run of the mill problems, not something like this. And I don't want to have to pay the $800 fee to find out the hard way (in several months...).
