If anyone was considering it, thinking about it, heard of it....heck, if you smelled it, and were wondering if it was worth it...
it most definitely is. I can honestly say it was one of the best summers of my life. Not only did I get to see some really great procedures, learn a TON about medicine, and in general get to see what being a doctor is like, but Prague is one of the most interesting cities I have ever been to. If you can, do this selective!!! message me if you have any questions!

It's full for this upcoming summer (2006). It was full many months ago and has a huge waiting list.

If you had a choice of:
A) Spending 6 weeks at home BEFORE having NO LIFE with path, micro, etc. (Term 4)
B) Or doing a prague selective for 3 of those weeks
Which would you choose? Just curious.

I did the selective the summer after Ivan, so the schedule was all messed up.
I had a total of 4 days at home after the selective, before taking 4th term, and although a lot of people dropped out of the selective that year for exactly that reason, I still did it and even though i LOVE being home, it was definitely worth it.
The selective is really interesting, but at the same time it's not really stressful. Sometimes my biggest stressor was knowing I had to wake up after coming home at 4 in the morning. But other than that, you have 3 of your afternoons off a week, and the other two you have to go for a 1 hour or 1.5 hour session, which I initially thought would be a waste of time, but it turned out that it was actually a really interesting and informative session.
So, I chose Prague, and I would definitely advise everyone else to do it if you have the resources...

The one that didn't cost a ton of money i.e. home.
But if money was not a problem, I'd go to Prague for a vacation. :)

Babu, its a no brainer.
come to Praugue!!!
the only thing thats keeping me borderline sane is the thought of going to prague this summer.! i just have to make sure to get out of 4th term in one piece.

Most definitely Prague,... and I went this past summer with almost no break at home. It's definitely expensive to fly out there (esp from the west coast) but you make it up in cheap food and beer! ;)
