Hi Everyone,
How's everybody doing? I just wanted to let you all know about an initiative that I'm promoting: www.enviropsych.org (http://www.enviropsych.org/) . It relates to psychology and health decision-making. This would especially be good if there are many people at Saba who are psychology minors/majors or are interested in research topics.
Let me know if you are interested in some kind of 'psychology' or 'research' club on campus where we discuss psychology/research (and maybe have some beer!).
Cheers!

I would be interested as well!
I think a journal club where the people involved rotated the kinds of articles they read would be the best. I would love to read psych, but I would also like to read other areas of biology, chemistry, ect. Would it be possible to just make the group a general journal club???

If I get in would be very interested. Have MS in counseling and several years of work in counseling in. Also during program at GSU was in Health Psychology seminar for many quarters with Dr Gregory Brack PhD. He wrote several papers on Munchausen syndrome by proxy effect on health care workers. Learned bunches of stuff there. Also worked counseling HIV postive folks at Positive Impact in Atlanta.

perfect! there seems to be a lot of interest and experience here, so we should be able to get a good research/discussion club of some sort going on. I guess it could be general but then have 'psychology' themes as well as other themes.
I don't know much about current student activities, but you never know when a club like this gets its own research/publication going!
In any case, I personally won't be at Saba until late August, but then I would have a lot of time and we can get started right away! And I guess we can do some planning right here on this forum beforehand if we want to...
Keep in touch,

Hi Everyone,
If you remember, about a month or two back, I proposed that we start a research & discussion group. I'm very sorry: my wife, who was accepted at SABA, is not accepted anymore. The admissions were quite cruel to her actually, and she was overqualified, but misunderstood one of her comments in the interview and reversed her admission.
Be careful on the interviews! Some of the time, unfortunately, might decides what's right
