Hello all,
Just wondering how many students entering the pre-med program actually proceed to go on to the MD program? Any facts? Any figures would be helpful.
Thanks

I asked that same question during my interview. The interviewer stated that just about all who finish the pre-med program do transfer right into the Basic Science program at MUA. Those students do have to achieve a 3.0 GPA or better to be admitted into the Basic Science program.
I figure that it would not be easy to transfer the pre-med credits from MUA to another school. Hope this helped a bit.

during the interview they won't tell u, but sell u! (nice lil quip i remember from some mgt class)
'just about all who finish' is a nice way of saying that about 1/2 to 2/3 do not transition from premed to med. however, that stat not only states ppl do not make 3.0, but, don't forget, it also includes ppl who drop out or transfter out (it is possible).
i talked to him last week about a lot of 'loose ends', one of which was the housing situation, which led to the underestimation of premeds becoming med1s in january, hence the now-dissapated threat of overcrowding.
it's hard enough to weed out those who can't hack it! i'm sure they wouldn't have given us a chance if they didn't feel we deserved one right?
don't let urself down or them! see y'all soon!
PS - yeah... lancaster PA!

it varies per class - a 3.0 is only a B!
if u put effort & time, u make an A or a B, if u schluff off, u fail. some ppl i've heard of didn't use their brain/time wisely & failed.
if u want it bad enough, anyone can do it!

exactly...i am firm believer that the success of the student ultimately depends their motivation and confidence....i mean...the school does have to provide the basic environment in where those characteristics can flourish....but yea....put simply, it comes down how bad you want it.....:cool::cool::cool::cool:
