Hello,

Quick question about the MCAT.....Is it true that if you take the MCAT more than once, Med schools will average your scores, rather than taking the best one?? Or is this just a rumor? Or, does it depend on the school??

I can choose to take the exam twice (in April and August). But I will be much more prepared for the August exam. So should I just wait until August and take it once? (but that would mean having only one shot at getting a good score). Or would it be better to take it both times, to allow room for improvement?

any feedback, advice, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Happy new Year

Hey,
I toured NYU medical school with my colleges prehealth society and was told by an NYU admissions afficer that they average your scores. This was 3 years ago, and I dont know if it has changed. Besides, studying for the mcat is such a pain in the *** that you do not want to do it more than once.

they look at the best scores of all the trials. Do try not to go down too much in a subject even if another goes up on the second try; but they do look at the "best".
