Pat Park, we all know that you read this forum frequently.
You don't think that the board has political agenda?
1. Then why don't you tell us why the board changed taiwan's name from "republic of taiwan" to "taiwan" after the Chinese consulate sent an email to your pr people? Why did the board name it "republic of taiwan" at the first place?
I wrote about this several months ago in this forum which I am sure that you read about it, but the list remained the same. Either you are not doing your job, or the board just thinks that they are getting paid by the people of Calfironia to ignore the request of the people of California. The name did not get changed until after I wrote to the Chinese consulate myself. And it took less than a week. So if there is no political agenda, why did the board change the name? It should insist on its "accuracy" and its "integraity" by refusing the request from the Chinese consulate. It simply showed that the board is nothing, but paper tiger.
2. And why did the board approve two med. schools in Cuba, none from north korea?
If there is no political discrimination, then I shall request the board to approve medical schools from North Korea for equal treatment!
3. And why did the board approved several schools in China that do not even exist? And I also would like to have the addresses for those non-existing medical schools in China.

However, do you think the State Medical Board of California will have sympathy towards your cause when you only attack them?
As I have asked before, what constitutional protected category does beign a medical gradaute fall under discrimination when practicing medicine is not a right BUT a privilege?

sympathy? do they really have any sympathy when they decided to ban all california imgs from practicing medicine in california forever?
And I do not want to talk about discrimination under this topic. I simply want the ca. board to answer those several questions that I have listed.

CaliEq, I don't know your story. What school did you go to and why did you choose it?

swimguy25, you are just another img. you are no better than the rest of the students.to all the physicians who graduated from US med. schools, you are just another carib graudate.
Sooner or later, maybe california board will change its mind to ban all imgs. Look at texas, it approved SGU, now it deleted that school from its list. So don't act as if you are a big shot. Your life might be affected, too!
Besides, I am asking Pat park to answer a few questions. You can support them all you want, they still haven't answered my questions.

CA actually recently added a Caribbean school to its approved list...Saba.
SGU grads can still get licensed in TX, as can AUC grads and probably grads from many Caribbean schools. Just a little extra paperwork.
You need to realize that the states can do as they choose in this arena. What you call discrimination, others call protection of patients. States rights trump federal jurisdiction in most cases, that is how our government was set up.
Posting the same thing over and over and over and over probably won't help you much. G

In your original post, there seem to be a quote from Pat Parks, where did it come from? It looks like she already told you what she thinks about your questions, in other words, she will ignore you.
Texas is a totally different story, they do not categorically ban you, you just have to prove your school is comparable to a U.S. School or a Texas school. I am sure SGU grads will not have a problem proving that until the list is updated and the mistake is corrected.

CMB changed Taiwan's designation because at this time, until official Taiwanese Independence becomes a reality (not too far fetch at all of a possibility), Taiwan's official name is not "Republic of Taiwan." This is NOTHING MORE than a simple correction of a type-o. It has nothing to do with school approvals or anything remotely related to licensure evaluation. You are making something out of absolutely nothing. And your rheterics on Taiwan sounds very similar to the Mainland communist babbles of a dying generation. Communist China has never ruled Taiwan for a single day. Taiwan has been independent, in all reality, ever since 1949 when communist took power in Mainland. Taiwanese culture is VERY distinctly different from mainland China. I've actually visited both places. Your world history is way off base.
As for listing of schools in Cuba and China -- again, I guess you are just too thick-headed to understand the distinction many have tried to point out to you. Schools in Cuba and China are TRUE DOMICILE foreign schools. As long as the gov of Cuba and China recognises a specific school, their graduates can apply. Perhaps California has an old list from both countries -- it doesn't matter. If a med school hopeful looks for these schools, he/she simply won't find it. No big deal. As a licensure applicant from these countries, California list does NOT impact them -- because they are from true domicile schools, and the only approval they need is their own country's approval (of their medical school) to apply to California.
You are debating inconsequential stuff because you can't change the fact that you knowingly went to a school not approved by California and are trying to whine afterwards. You should have known better if you wanted to practice in California. As for Carib grads in California -- those that are from approved schools are doing very well, thank you very much. Plenty of us have successful practices and many of us hold full time, professor-level faculty positions. It's not going to change anytime soon. As for Texas, plenty of SGU/AUC/Ross grads work there. One of them actually work for GW on the Presidential medical staff.... Where you go to school matters. You should have known that when you chose your school. If you didn't, it's your own fault, no one elses.

Come on, Picard, this is the 21st century. You can't take responsibility for your own decisions. If you can't find someone to blame, you aren't trying hard enough. G

its swimguy23.....anyways yes i am an img. yes us students will label me as a usimg......heres the difference. they will label me as competent, a great physician who is efficient and a good asset to the hospital. cali board will never change its mind to ban all imgs.....next of all you dont know anything about law apparently if you have never heard of a grandfather clause. my school currently meets cali requirements.....as long as i graduate prior to any changes im grandfathered. yes there could be exceptions but there is legal backing. you went to an unapproved school for whatever reason and now are fighting the board. you had a choice to go to an approved school.....if you couldnt get into a US school (which most of us did not) AND either AUC, SGU, ROSS, or SABA then dude maybe you should rethink things.....or maybe everyone is just out to hold you back?
Just bc you post mutliple threads on the same nonsense and you have absolutely no sense of responsibility i am going to write to cmb and tell them good job bc someone with your lack of responsibility will be just plain dangerous in a hospital

since CE's post is almost verbatim from his last rant with Ms Park; there is no need to rehash it here. The level-headed replies I commend. Since there is nothing new to the last battery of posts discussing the board of CA, Ms. Park who has kindly donated her time here, and proper nomenclature of Taiwan, those really keen on more of those insights can do a search.
