Anyone have any information about this site? I heard some good things...I may be doing an OB/GYN rotation there.St. John's is located in an affluent area of St Louis County, right off of highway 40 (which happens to be a cluster$%#$), and it is fairly centrally located, maybe 10 minutes w/o traffic from downtown. It has a fairly large campus with a new cancer tx center, has a level 1 trauma unit, and several doctor's offices attached. It used to be the primary psych tx facility in St Louis for substance abuse tx (Edgewood), but I do not think that that is still in existence. As far as OB/GYN, I am not too sure about their reputation, but based upon opinions of local hospitals, I would have to say that it is top 3 in the area. My guess would be that the clientele is mostly private insurance, but I am sure there are some Medicaid as well. The downfalls will be traffic--if you reside more than 10 miles, it may take an hour or more to get there daily, but if you can find a place in Creve Coeuer (sp?)or Maryland Heights, you can likely get there in 10-15 minutes. Parking is fair, and they are always in the process of building. There are two parking garages, one is close to the hospital facility, and one is a bit further away. When I get to clinicals, I am definitely going to try to get a spot @ this medical center.

I'll be there in January to February. I start off at Wyckoff for about 4 of the six rotations. Doing my FP in Orlando, and OB/GYN at St. John's Mercy.

Man, the site seems to be good, but would like to stay in NYC. At least you have Bronx-Lebanon, Long Island College Hosp, and Lutheran.

Hi Junito, I regognize the flag from Puerto Rico, where I am from. It happens that I will be starting Ross in January, but I am also from Missouri, and happen
to Work at this hospital in the Laboratory, as a Medical Technologist in Chemistry, I used to work in this hospital Cytogenetic Department, but they closed down the department and send everything to a reference Lab. You mention Residency and rotation at St. John's , are you a Ross student ? This would be a dream come true if I can come back and do rotations at St. John's. The hospital just opened a Heart Hospital and a state of the art new ER. It is a level 1 Trauma Center. About Edgewood, Psychiatric unit, they still have it, but move it off campus, to make space for more private patient rooms. They are building a Rehab hospital .

Hello
Do we have anexact addres for the main area of the hospital it would be helpful when looking for a place to live. thanks!Try this (http://www.stjohnsmercy.org/sjmmc/default.asp)for more info and the address. There are a lot of affordable and nice places to live in both the city and the county. If you live anywhere off of Olive near 270, you will be within minutes of the medical center, and you will be able to find a very nice place to live. You will be 20 minutes from downtown.
