the school always recommends it.....there were people that would leave for a weekend to one of the other islands and obviously wouldnt get a leave.....I took a week off my second semester and the professors and assistant dean recommended i take a leave bc if a professor decided to give a quiz or anything then you are covered.....its just easier to do. Also, it isnt bc the school wants to track you 24/7, its urged by the US embassy in caracao in case the US ever has to evacuate the island or there is a natural disaster.....they need to know how many americans are on the islandOriginally Posted by djo

If you fail at AUC, SGU, or Ross why not transfer to SMU, if you fail at SMU, why not try another SMU.
Didn't they recently send out an email outlining the new policies? I believe if you're just leaving for the weekend or holidays, no, you don't need to file a LOA. But if you're gone during schooldays you do need one. I'm not sure though. Best to check before you end up in a world of trouble.
