OK, here's the deal with Caribbean schools. Well, from what I hear AUC is not easy to get into anymore. It wasn't easy even back when I applied. SGU is definately not easy to get into either. BUT, the Caribbean schools are easIER to get into than Canadian/US schools. For one thing, not many people want to pick up and leave their friends and families to go to school in another country for 2 years. Moreover, now-a-days it's darn near impossible to get in without perfect GPA, MCAT and all the extras. One reason is demand. If you have 2000 students applying for 100 spots in a certain school (as in the US schools) of course it's going to be very competitive to get into. The Caribbean schools don't have quite as many applicants, but currently these schools are becoming much more popular after students see that offshore schools really are turning out good doctors. Thus, even the Caribbean schools are now pretty competitive......some of them at least. The newer schools are not that hard to get into mainly because they are new....not many students even know about them thus not many apply to them. Hope this helps.
