Exclamation MEAS/Admission complaints?

Hi,

Well I finally got threw to someone in the Admissions Dept last week by the name of Jeff. He told me what I was missing but he isn't my Admissions Advisor.

Who do I contact to give complains to regarding this department? Imagine he found 3 letters in the "temp" drawer. Whatever that is. My Advisor Ira apparently couldn't get off her *** to look for them. Ridiculous.

No, I cannot help you get a residency.

President and Dean of--
Skipper's Medical Univeristy of the Dutch West Indies--SMU-DWI
Apply Now.....Get an MD in 6 Weeks....

If you fail at AUC, SGU, or Ross why not transfer to SMU, if you fail at SMU, why not try another SMU.

See now, if you had applied to Skipper Med U then you can just complain to Skipper and Dean directly.

You mean "through," not "threw."

Although your complaining will fit right in, I would wait until you are accepted before lodging any sort of formal complaint.

Also, you should develop a little more patience or it will be a long 20 months (or more).

Wow, I think one of those could be mine, but who knows. I hope it just gets figured out soon, but if it doesn't, I am going to have mine sent certified mail or whatever it is called so I absolutely know it is there.

Best bet...then you'll have a name of someone who could be held accountable for receiving your stuff.

Aloha,

My advice would be don't bite the hand that accepts you. And by that I mean the entire entity known as MEAS/MEIO. 5 years from now you really shouldn't be caring about the fact that you were accepted in 2 months vs 6 months. Even if you have a legitimate complaint, which you might- I'm not saying one way or another- I would just be polite and let it go. The toes you step on today might be connected to the butt you have to kiss tomorrow.

I also have to add, that I have had a "golden" experience with MEAS/MEIO. Knock on wood. No lost checks, no lost folders or letters etc, timely acceptance and appropriate follow up.

And I would further say that, aside from a messed up address or a late check here and there, the golden people are the majority, not the minority.

Bad news travels like wildfire and good news like cold molasses uphill. Nobody ever gets on here and starts a thread, "MEIO: Whom do I write a letter of thanks for handling my application in only 2 weeks?" or "I got my check in time, who should I call to thank?" or "My application advisor called me promtly to let me know that my file was incomplete; is this normal?" or "MEAS! One word: AWESOME!!!" But I guarantee you that stuff happens more often that a lost trascript or whatever.

if anything, i probably should have stayed in touch w/them more than i did. other than a christmas card, i didn't hear anything out of coral gables, but then sure enough, i got the acceptance packet in the mail, so hooray for the MEAS folks. they get an A+ from me. Basically, anybody who lets me into a medical school is a genius and a saint.
