You hit the nail on the head with this post. I applied over a month ago, have called three times in the past two weeks to confirm that everything has been received, and have yet to hear anything back from them. The only thing I'm convinced they know how to do is cash a check. And what I really find amazing is that it's just soooo much worse than SABA, Ross & SGU.
Well, I'm now 7 days away from having to send in my required deposit to Ross, and although I would've much rather been on a nicer island, Ross is where I'll now be going. I figure if it's this rough getting any sort of communication from AUC now when they're trying to sell me on the school, it'll probably 10x worse come clinical time. Quote:

They'll refer you to another advisor.. If you really intially preferred AUC over Ross, I recommend you at least speak to someone ( or email ) and state that you're going to have to go to Ross if you dont hear from AUC within the week. They wont ignore your email. (send 2, one to your advisor and one to applicantss@aucmed.edu) It would suck to have to base your decision of where to attend medical school for 2 years on a lousy advisor. As far as MEAS during clinical time, I dont think the same people are involved in setting up clinicals as those who deal with admissions. Also, there are a lot less students setting up clinicals than there are applicants to AUC, so it wont be 10x worse, dont worry. Good luck! |

it seems to be by chance on who you get. people say you either have a great experience with meas or a horrid one. they do get a ton of appluications, say 600 divided by 4 or so advisors? i always wonder how many emails they get daily as anal as we med students are?
all i can say is that it is nothing like that for clinicals nor was it like that on island. i guess once you are weeded out and really 'in' there are much fewer people to deal with. the fin aid dept has always gotten back to me the same day except at the begining of the semester when it is 1-3 days. clinicals i usually get a response in 30 minutes, the next day the latest unless they are on island. calling there is weird, i don't like the phone setup
