I had trouble getting in contact for awhile. They had switched me off of one advisor to another, and the old advisor was not available. And, my emails would come back to me with error messages whenever I tried to contact her/him. After calling the main office, I was able to find out that all my documents were in and a package in the mail was coming.

I still have yet to get anywhere with them. I am just going to withdraw my application because I have already been accepted elsewhere. So good luck to all of you that are going to attend AUC. I need to go to a school that I feel really Appreciated because its too much of my hard earned money going into this degree. I called and asked for pass rates nad my advisor had no idea what I was talking about. I felt like what the hell am I dealing with here a circus. I mean if an advisor doesn't know what pass rates means and is working at a medical school that I am interested in what that does that say about the school, other than it really needs some major help. So good luck to all that attend AUC it really does seem like a cool island and all but I need to learn something!

a school that "appreciates" you?
now thats good comedy! i wish the university of illinois would have appreciated me.....good luck. i always thought that the admissions advisors were just there to put your papers together, i doubt that they have any clue as to anything outside their checklist of things to sent to the admissions com. anyway good luck at st mats, bc if you are looking to be carried in chertruse chaffon with admin reading you bedtime stories and flushing for you through school, that appears the place to be...hehe why is it that most people have either a great time with meas or a horrible time? no one is in the middle. i am begining to think that they tier the applicants and take care of the 'good' prospects first and leave the rest to keep trying, half hoping they give up....

Come on, I'm not defending MEAS but you acting a little rash. The 1st time pass rate depends on ... GASP.... *YOU*..... it doesn't matter how others are doing because your scores aren't dependent on others. |

Also, keep in mind that Caribbean schools in general are going to have a much lower pass rate than Allopathic (and Osteo, to some degree) since the majority of us are the dregs that couldn't get in to an American school (except me, I actually *could* have gotten in, I just didn't feel like, er, waiting for the application process and, um, I actually wanted to live in the Caribbean for a few years ). On average we are poorer students. That's life. |

And some of the applicants, meaning me, may have taken a "presidential" approach to higher education in our younger years(btw, am actually a fan of GWB, but it is what it is), and those ancient grades stick around like a criminal record, thus a good school like AUC becomes an option.
