Can anyone tell me what your experience has been with the financial aid office? Do they act quickly? Are they helpful? Do you ususally get your money in a reasonable amount of time? The reason why I am asking is that AUC offered me a conditional acceptance because I am graduating in December. They stated they will not process any financial aid until my transcripts are recieved stating that I have graduated. Since my last final is December 19th I would imagine that my grades won't be available until the first week of Jan. When I talked to the financial aid office yesterday, they stated that if this was the case I would not have financial aid until mid Feb and should plan on bringing $5,000 to get me through until then. Does this figure sound accurate? It is a shame, because this money issue may keep me away from attending AUC as opposed to attending Ross which will give me the financial aid right away. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It took only a few days for the FIN AID office to get things in order for me. They know what they are doing. Maybe the wait will be due to the loan company/Feds and the back and forth of that. If that is what they said that probably is what its going to be. I would call back and talk to the head of the office and make sure that is what will have to happen. I would think there is someway around waiting for your grades. Since they know the score and admitted you. I would ge back on the phone. Worse case maybe you should wait( make some money) and be in the May class. It will be a small class compared to Ross.
