Thread: failing

i was reading through the "AUC Rumors" thread about how the failing percentage was being raised to 75%.
is this actually true? after reading the whole thing i could not tell what the actual deal is now for incoming students.
also, for the people that you guys know about that failed classes or just failed out, would you say it was because they did not try hard enough, or because they did give it their all and still just did not cut it?
are there any statistics on mcat scores and med school grades and all that you could direct me to?

some people failed out bc they didnt try hard enough, others because they just didnt have what it took to understand the material.....i know it sounds harsh but its true.

also yes there are statistics from mcat and grades and usmle but dont get too hung up on it.....just try your best

I don't understand how some of you think there are people who just weren't born with the capacity to handle med school information. It ain't that hard, any idiot can learn it, it just takes hours and hours and hours of studying the material.

Uh, I'd bet you just about anything Forrest Gump couldn't get through medical school.

youre entitled to your opinion, however, i and many others disagree with you. ALL caribbean schools admit some people who wont and shouldnt make it. they just dont have what it takes....any idiot can memorize information, the intelligence comes in when you integrate the material and that is what some people lack being able to do.....its unfortunate but its true

in there world there are stupid people, mediocre people, and smart people---

at caribbean med schools we get a very small amt of smart people (because they made it into US schools)--then we get alot of mediocre people, who can make it through and pass step 1---and lastly we get stupid people, who from the begining have no chance passing classes or step 1---
