Smile Visiting August 15-19

Hello everyone,
Just turned in my application in the other day, feels good to finally have it done! Just waiting on a couple letters of recommendation now. In any case, I've decided to come down and visit the school, as well as needed a good excuse for a scuba trip. I'm guessing that the best thing for me to do would be to contact MEAS to let them know I'll be visiting, but I was wondering if any current students would be free to show me around for a day. I think this is after finals and before the new semester starts, so I know there probably won't be many people there, but I was hoping someone might be available.

Can anyone recommend a good dive shop or any particularly good dive sites? Also, anyone have any idea about how long it takes MEAS to assign you a counselor once you turn in your app? Thanks for the help!

-Scott

If you fail at AUC, SGU, or Ross why not transfer to SMU, if you fail at SMU, why not try another SMU.

You should ask the spouses club for help around the island. they are mostly very nice (and have lots of free time) and helpful unlike Skipper.

you can email the spouse's organization at spousesorg@gmail.com . Vina the SO president will probably be able to find a volunteer to give you a tour and/or answer any questions you have. I have heard Saba (the island to our SW) has world class dive sites but since i don't dive i'm not too much help in that area. i believe the going rate to take a ferry to saba is in the $60 range. feel free to pm me for more info on the spouse's org.

Don't forget babysitting.

I know you guys discuss every wednesday night at the spouses meeting, "How to get revenge on Microphage for sending all the newbies over to their site.."

hummm I just love to delegate, delegate, delegate. I'm gonna make a great primary care physician.

most of us use the Dive Adventures group outta pelican key, they are very student friendly and give us great discounts on dives, $25/per take, that include all rental and boat fees.

They also can get you on a dive trip to Saba for like 90-100 bucks, saba is worth it, some of the best i have ever seen.

later
