the status of the auc forum.........

this used to be an informative place back in the day.

then we got a new breed of posters that still gave valuable info but tainted it with bicker about women, platinum room, just about any conversation that they could think of. so you had to really search for the meat of the threads. although it has calmed down.

now we have a hostile takeover of auc academic under-achievers who are trying to scare new students away from a very reputable and proven school. they are part of the "god" complex group where when they fail their courses.......... they never look at themselves in the mirror but only blame the school.

one user put it the best......... "if i spill water on my computer and it breaks...... im not gonna go blame dell."

Hmm....I guess this comment was targetted at me? Well, just to let you know, I'm not currently failing out of school, I'm not hostile, I just don't see what benefit you give future students in having them enter the school without knowing certain IMPORTANT info. Tell me, seeing as though all the info I post is always accurate and can be backed up, what harm does it do to inform prospective students of certain information that will affect their academic career??

here is one of your "glorious" posts:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So basically to wrap it all up, we've been screwed. You might as well say that we MUST get the school's health insurance, and if you have a family here, better just hope they don't get sick. There are already a large number of students taking 6 semesters, and now due to this new policy there is a large number doing 7, and even some now doing 8!?! ( i never thought i'd see the day....). Now is the school trying to fail out these students or make them stay even longer???? If that's the case, then why not just ask them to leave rather than start all of these new policies and hurt the entire student body? Hmm...guess the extra $10,000 per semester in the school's pocket is no motivation . 1st & 2nd semesters, I really feel for you.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

its that type of load of crap that im talking about. you are just too damn axious to scare newbies who have enough to worry about. you claim that everything you say is true......???????
well lets dissect this post above.......

    1. you were wrong about the insurance. they were thinking of doing that but they chose to allow students to show proof of current insurance. didnt stop you from immedietely posting.

    2. once again implying that we have loads of people doing extra semesters. it was proven here that more then a super majority of the people in many classes stay on track.

    3. you imply that the school started new failure policies which they didnt. they have always had those policies.

    4. you try bring the "ross" discussion in here by implying that the faculty are trying to fail people out.

actually...... you need to quit implying loads of crap on the auc forum.
so can you explain to me how everything you post is true??????? that post that i highlighted speaks otherwise.

you seem to put a magnifying glass of the few negatives that this school has. most schools in the carib has minor problems. but thats all that these are.

ok there chicken little??????? see you next semester again. heck maybe the one after that too

For one....that post is VERY old....

Next, if there weren't many students taking extra semesters then why did they say that the new drop policy was due to this????? And MAYBE, this policy was in place, but it was NEVER enforced until recently. I'm done arguing back and forth. PM me with any further questions. This is not the place for personal convos.

Hi Yoda, I see you've joined in as usual

    families and insurance

just in case more people read this and the insurance thing does eventually get put in place...it was never intended for families just the student. you can still get whatever kind of coverage you want for your spouse/sig other and/or your child(ren) even if they DO institute a policy that requires the students to carry AUC insurance. hth

hey scott. i agree with you about the "hostile takeover of auc....". i am sick of reading whining about a certain small percentage of students that fail and blame everyone else.

so guys and gals you know the best way to deal with the "hostile takeover" thing? Dont reply except to counter with fact. Then post your own stuff that is factual and in your view in a proactive way. dont feed trolls is rule number one. Dont get into pee pee contests with people who you disagree with - just counter with what you feel are the facts. the worst t hing in terms of "hostile takeover" is not disagreement; its hostile tone.
