    Charging Laptops.

    Salutations:

I was wondering, would I be able to charge my laptop in the library or at home? I probably would need to purchase a transformer but would I have to bring my transformer everywhere with me if I want to charge my laptop? Or would all the plugs on campus already have a transformer so that I can just plug in my adapter and charge my batteries? Thanks.

    Well, in theory, yes...

If you discount the voltage fluxuations, the brownouts, and the blackouts, yea, it's identical.

If you're using a desktop, get a UPS, don't risk it.

good point, dont just get a power strip with a surge protector. Put all of your electronics on an UPS, i cant tell you the number of folks that lost computer files, external hard driver and the entire contents of their MP3 players.

as well as back up everything. i am speaking from having my external drive get zapped twice losing over 20 gigs of info that i could never get back
