question about class size

Had a question about a story a fellow interviewee told me. He got accepted and went down to start school at AUC. When he got there the first day of classes a town hall meeting was held because the school had accepted way too many students and had to split the class into class A and class B. Where class A would go to class MWF for week 1 and TT for week 2. Class B followed the opposite schedule. He said he asked for a refund and quit because he felt the school might have been on hard times financially and just accepted a mess of students. Was anyone in this same class? Is the story he told me true? any comments?
thank you very much and as always I appreciate any feedback

When was this?

I started in the September class, we had about 140ish students. Our anatomy lab was split up into group A and B where A group would dissect MWF and B group TT, and the reverse on the following two weeks. Is this what you're talking about?

September class is usually the largest, Jan class was about 90, and May should be 50-60.

Yup

Running the alternate days in Anatomy Lab alone is a practice at AUC that has gone on for a number of years, and ONLY in the September class. ALL other classes (including Anatomy Lecture) are conducted as a single group. Is it s less than optimal situation in which to learn human anatomy? Possibly. Will it crippile your ability to learn? Absolutely not.

Sounds like your friend may not have told the whole story, or maybe you didn't understand it quite right.

The school is most certainly not on hard times financially, **** is making more money than he ever has, he's just cheap. The school is in no danger of folding, in fact, it's expanding. Don't worry, he won't let his cash cow go down that easily.

class size

We have expand the anatomy lab so we can accomodate up to 150 students. In the future we will not split the class into A and B. All the students will dissect same days, same hours.

Cheers

i personally enjoyed the fact that i only had to dissect for 3 or 2 days out of the week....

you know i learned way more going in later in the evening when everything was cleaned up and dissected and just reviewing everything....

the whole dissection proccess takes hours and in the end you are coming back to review it....

even say they have to split the class, which they wont need to with 150 max cap now.....but if they did you are not losing anything...just a few hours a week of cutting...

re:

thanks guys,
seems the guy I met must have had second thoughts when he got down there and needed a reason to justify them. Plus with his wife beating him down about not being happy and not having anything to do I guess I don't blame him. Thanks for the clarification guys. 8)
