    Residency

    Anyone know what month does the average first year resident start his/her residency. Just want to know how much time I can have between semester 9.5 and 1st year of residency, hopefully a 4th year med student or current/former resident can answer. Thanks

    Officially 1 July every year. Some programs have "intros" for new residents to get them ACLS certified, etc.

    The 1 July date is the standard for all programs, it's officially the start of the PGY year
