Thread: HELP! Need apartment Info Asap!

Just found out today that the dorms are full for May! Need an summary of apartments around school. Pros/Cons. Will not have a car for now, single male. Please reply asap. I fly in next Friday. What about the "Summit" (?) as a temporary solution? Any feedback on Aventura,Sunset,Pelican Key? Do not want to make a huge mistake here.

Make sure you say Paul Lehmann recommended the place. It will ease things along and I might be able to bum a few days from him when I come back to visit the island.

He has inexpensive and very very nice furnished apartments in Maho which is a short walk to AUC (belive me, you need to take a break from sitting down). Security will return you at night if you don't have a car. In the morning, if it rains, there are plenty of buses (vans) picking up just at the bottom of the hill (about 100 yards away). "Maho apartments: Studio $950 and DOuble $1600" This gives a better description.

I advise planning to use rental savings to get a cheap used car though since you'll find one invaluable for getting around and shopping of time and you'll save a vast amount of time and of money on taxis and rental cars. Unlike the USA, car insurance is cheap for third party and cars retain their value.

When you get to AUC, don't neglect to go to Sarafinas in Marigot: a real French cafe ewith cakes and ice cream
