I know there's at least a handful of us on here who are going through this year's match cycle. Since ECFMG tokens just became available today, I figured now was as good a time as any to start a discussion thread for it.

General things that come to mind...

Token- available now [log into OASIS -> on the left it says ERAS support services... costs $90]
ERAS opens- July 1
1st day to submit applications- Sept 1

CK Score delay... Anyone taking CK "on or around" August 3rd and later won't get their score until Sept 28. USMLE® : General Information [Has anyone talked to someone in the know i.e. a PD or chair about the significance of this?]


So what's everyone applying for this year?

This is simply fantastic news. I guess it really is all about getting that residency.

the definition of an attending is really just a physician who finishes their residency and practices medicine.

if you are not looking for a fellowship after residency, you will have more than enough opportunities in medicine. some will try to stay in academic medicine and primarily teach within a residency in an academic setting, some will go off into the private world such as myself, and others will do a little of both. by your second year of residency, your email in box will be overflowing with headhunters trying to recruit you for jobs all over the world as well as across all the states.

it's really not that hard to get a job for primary care. Anesthesia in Seattle on the other hand is nearly impossible.

Won't be back in the US until August 17... not much I can do about it.

Returned my pager, ascom phone, laptop already. No more call. Just going through the motions. Most of all.....i got my certificate already framed and on my office wall.
