One bit of advice....

Buy a UPS(no, i'm not talking about the postal service). A UPS is an Uninterrupted Power Supply. The apartments around the school have been getting quite a bit of brownouts lately. A bunch of computers fried their motherboards, a laptop died about 3 days after the brownout, a brand new TV was damaged etc, The only thing that can protect against brownouts is a UPS. Buy one, bring it down and be glad you did. It costs around 50-60 bucks from newegg.com or you can just head to your local Circuit City or Best Buy to pick one up. Be sure to buy one with at least 500VA and one that connects to your USB port on your computer. The UPS will help shut down your computer if you aren't home and the power on the battery also goes out.

Brownout=>when the power dips too low, the opposite of a surge. A surge protector can't/won't protect against this. It is afterall, the opposite of a surge.

UPS=>sort of like a big battery and a power strip all in one. It will regulate the power so that there are no surges and no dips. when the power goes out, anything connected to the UPS will still be running on the battery so those devices will not have turned off yet. You'll get about 10-20 minutes of power out of that battery. This will give you enough time to shut down your computer and save all your stuff(you can also use it to power a lamp if the power goes out).
They are a bit heavy so plan to have some weight left in your suitcase for it.

THe problem is... run where? Saba's got black Monday, Ross had Block testing... SGU doesn't accept transfers.... we're screwed.

I"ve got it! The med school in Curaco is offering scholarships to transfer students!!!

Attention Transfer Students, St Martinus University is offering a limited number of scholarships to those who are currently enrolled in a medical school and are willing to start SMU in either May or August. Please visit the website at www.martinus.edu for more information.

New thought ...

Well, we could run around circles here on the rock ... but I have a better idea! All 200 incoming newbies should run out of the airport departure line before it's too late. Then give MEIO a call and ask them to return their deposit ... 200 deposits ... at 1,000 a deposit might make a few heads turn. Besides, anatomy lab is only so big ... I mean come on ... 200 in our lab. Good luck with that!
Vent on!
