Just a question, is this really that big a deal? Did you maybe ask yourself why they have been off a little lately? I don't know if this was the reason for Mailbox not being there today or not, but I know that the planes they use to deliver mail from Miami have been flying supplies to Haiti. Then the planes turn around and go back to Miami and pick up stuff for the Mailbox and bring it down here. The people working at the Mailbox told me this when I picked up a package there last week and they weren't really happy about it either, but what else can they do? Just thought some people might want to keep this in perspective.

since i was just there, they said the reason why things are off, is cause most of the cargo planes availabout out of miami are being used to take things to haiti. Sounds reasonable to me. that being said, Ozarkpaddler, if you want, i can take you. im a nice guy. i dont bite.

Thank you for the offer of a ride. I have a vehicle, but my point was that they promise two visits per week to campus when you pay $100+ for the year. (In addition to their various and variable fees). Not only are there people who have no vehicle to drive down to Hellbox, those of us who do have vehicles 1) paid them to deliver and pick-up at school, and 2) may not have time to fight high-season traffic.
So the cargo planes are busy flying to Haiti? That is no way affects their ability to come to school, as promised, to pick up outgoing mail. My point is they are paid to be there twice a week. They should be there twice per week. They collect money from students eagerly enough. In addition, I know you can fly bundles of envelope mail on commercial airliners. They aren't flying to Haiti. I'm not really bent out of shape about this, it is just the principle involved. You collect money to do a job: You do the job.
