    Whats up with the Canadians

I have noticed that there are a number of Canadians in these carb Med schools. Why? Canada won't let them practice...do they plan to just move to the States? and is it easy to do that? I have a few friends in Canada that would like to move to the US..so should I inform them of this easy in?

    Canadians

To answer your question, the US is a good option for canadians not able to get in to a med school here. Provided you perform well on USMLE (at least 80 and above) you should have no problem getting in to a residency that sponsers either the J-1 or H1-B visa.

The visa issues are complex and I won't go in to the details. Having a good imigration lawyer helps too. On another note the laws in Canada are changing somewhat for FMG's to retrun but that is another story and I certainly would NOT bank on returning to Canada. EVER.

Sure you can practice in Canada. If you want to live in Whitehorse or Yellowknife, no problem! :-)

I had my greencard before coming down to AUC so for me no problem. If you don't have a greencard, you need to get the appropriate visa's. The best people to ask are others who have gone through the process or immigration lawyers if you want to dish out the money.

    Good Luck!
