I've been trying to download lecture slides from home but it doesn't work. It starts downloading and then it just times out during the middle of download.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with the IT staff via email?
Thanks

516 points It's been a known issue for most of last semester. Getting in touch with IT is unfortunately not going to help you. Gotta go to campus.
The internet off campus is generally too slow to be able to download the lectures from angel. like GKrause said, gotta go to campus.
516 points Thanks to my flight being canceled yesterday, I'm still at home in the States. I was hoping that my faster internet connection at home would solve the Angel issue, but I guess not. Thank you both for your feedback.
45 points Stop being lazy and get yoself to capus. Damn back in the day BIG had to go to campus and download the stuff. Wasnt no download stuff from your apartment. Those cats stuck in the US, well you I understand.
I was able to download the lecture notes this morning (Jan 5) from ANGEL at my apartment off-campus. Sometimes ANGEL is a little flighty (no pun intended) and the only way to get the notes is to go on campus and download it on the campus network.
It's annoying, but working sometimes off-campus is better than it was a few semesters ago.
it seems to be a problem with file transfers here on the island. unfortunately, the island's internet provider has difficulty maintaining file transfer connections, and so its not just a problem with off campus angel. On campus, it works because its considered INTRAnet traffic rather than INTERnet traffic, and there fore the island's IP is not involved. As said, you are best off coming to campus. for future note, the IT committees email is:

I use this program from off campus and it usually is able to download files from Angel completely. It does so by opening up several connections to download multiple pieces at the same time. Sometimes it will hang at 99.99% but if I leave it alone and let it run for 5 min it will usually download the last remaining bytes and finish. Give it a shot.
