    snorkel gear

Is anyone selling snorkel gear? Or do you have suggestions for where I can pick up some pretty cheap? I don't need anything fancy just something to play around with.

    Thanks!

Oceans Explorers in Simpson Bay sells used equipment for cheap. They let you buy the stuff that they use for scuba diving, right off the rack. Better quality than the kits people buy from Costuless. They also have new stuff, but it's expensive.

I got a snorkel, mask and fins for $30 (if my memory is correct).

Definitely check out one of the dive shops. Octopus diving will also give AUC students discounts on their stuff. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the stuff they sell in Cost u Less, or anywhere that's not a dive shop. A good mask that fits you properly (which the stuff from other stores never will) will keep the water out and be much more comfortable. A good snorkel will fit comfortably in your mouth, keep water out of it (unless you go underwater), and be easy to get water out of if you do go underwater. If you've got a cheap snorkel and any water splashes or a wave hits you, you're gonna get a mouthful of water.

agree with slevit1. Get a good mask and snorkel - dont be cheap. thats like taking up running and buying keds for your feet. Even if you don't become a master scuba dude you can always snorkel with them in style.
