    banking and anatomy supply Qs

hi guys, i had a question about banking, i have a bank account with BofA and was wondering if everyone on the island accepts BofA checks(with my US address). Also how much cash would you recommend bringing to the island. Also does anyone know if atm machines there charge a withdrawl fee.

Also would you recommend bringing a Dissection kit, a surgical supply store here has one for 18$.

Oh just making sure St Maarten uses 110V like the US correct?

The Scotia bank ATM in the casino (maybe 100 yds from campus) lets you withdraw money from BofA accounts without fees. That's how I get all my money, including rent. If you call BofA, they can raise your account limits up to $1400/day for a week.

Enough of your classmates will have dissection kits. You won't need your own. You can also buy a used one from upper semesters.

The dutch side, including campus, uses the regular US voltage. The french side is different. You can buy adapters from ACE if necessary.

St. Maarten for the most part is a cash based island. Use your account to get the cash from the ATM. If you rent somewhere that has US management, you might get them to accept a US check, but not guaranteed. The school takes US checks.

Dissection kit, you can get here for like $10.

The Dutch side uses 110 V/50 Hz and the French side uses 220V/60 Hz.
