Thread: Anyone know how to setup wireless router?

So I have a linksys wireless router and caribserve internet. We went to caribserve yesterday to activate our internet and its not working. I am not sure if its because my router is bad, im not installing it correctly, or if the internet isnt active yet. Is there any way i can find that out? Also is there any particular settings my linksys router should be on for caribserve like a particular host/domain name or channel? I didnt get the cd with the router so im trying to use the web-based IP address system. thanks

Are you able to connect your laptop to the router with a lan cable and actively browse the web/use the internet?

If so, then yes, your wireless is not configured properly.

Go into your router at address 192.168.0.1 from your webpage and that should get you into your router. Username and Password should be the same with "Admin" or you may need to only put in the Username only.

Then you'll need to set up your wireless capabilities, WPA-SKA, and all that other stuff before disconnecting your lan cable.

You should be able to continue to browse the web when you disconnect the lan cable and see that you are connected via wireless capabilities.
