    Airport to Summit Resort

Wondering what the best way to get from the airport to summit resort is. Is it walkable distance? If so, how long? If cab is the best way, what would the fare be approximately? Do cabs take US dollars? Is there a bus?
    Thanks.

Not walkable distance, especially since you'll have bags. Taxi is probably the best way for someone to get to where they live coming from the airport. The fare will probably be somewhere from $8-14 and yes, they take US dollars. In fact, it is the preferred/expected currency in most places.

There is a bus service but it's not really on a schedule. It's a little weird and not quite like the bus lines one would expect to see in the US. I wouldn't consider it an option for getting from the airport, especially if it's your first visit to St. Maarten and you have bags.

Take a cab and pay them no more than 10 dollars. If they refuse, keep on asking down the line.

i dunno man...it's gonna be tough to get a $10 taxi from the airport, especially once the taxis see all the luggage. I'd say no more than $20 for sure, probably $15.

Agreed. $15 w/ bags should be about right. I would bring some singles for the cab. If you hand 'em a $20 and say like, "gimme $2 back", they don't always get it.

Just remember to ask "How much?" before getting in the cab. you will most likely have a few different drivers to choose from.
