Personal Question
My lung collapsed a while ago and I was forced to have two major lung surgeries. Long story short, I got my surgeon to release me for school and he said I will be just fine to attend. Problem is, I am not allowed to do any heavy lifting. That poses somewhat of a problem for me getting my bags from the airport to the dorm. Do you guys know if there are porters at the airport there that can help me get my luggage into the car? Then maybe I can get the cab driver to help me with the bags to my room if I tip well or something? I know it sounds petty, but I will be at AUC starting this September and if you guys don't think my plan will work I can always try to get someone to come down with me. I am just trying to avoid spending the money on an extra ticket! Thanks, s. |

Maybe you can get the help of an orientation advisor? Have you been assigned one yet? If not, it should happen soon. Often times if they have a car, I've heard of some who pick students up at the airport... maybe you can talk to him/her about it when you do get assigned one.

there's no need to feel abashed about asking for help, we're all in this together and should help each other out to those who know me: i am nice sometimes |

When I arrived a taxi driver grabbed my bags and took off with them to his taxi. I had to run to keep up, so it shouldn't be an issue. But if these guys help you even better. I would offer to help you myself, but I don't get back until the 31st and you will most likely be here already. If not, let me know!
