    Guard shack laundry specifics

Hi, I was wondering if someone could let me know the specifics of the laundry service where the students leave their laundry at the guard shack. Such as, what day do people bring their stuff there? How much does it cost? Is there a certain protocol to follow?

    Thanks!

Laundry is $8 for one load, which should be bagged (laundry bag, clear plastic bag, etc.), and left at the guard shack before 0800. I don't think Y does laundry on the weekends. The laundry is usually returned by 1600 (unless there weren't enough bags to warrant returning that day, in which case it will be back the following morning). And, if I could quell any concerns you might have, I've never had anything go "missing," outside of one single sock, once.

    I hope this helped.

Is one load however much you put in the bag, or however much she determines one load to be? I always wondered that...

Yeah, I still haven't figured out what one "load" exactly is...

I started an experiment last semester wherein I place a random amount of laundry in my bag, along with a $20, keeping a mental note of how much change I get back. For $12, I manage to get the following washed, dried, and folded: two towels, seven days worth of compression shorts and t-shirts, one pair of jeans, and about one or two polos.

For the money, it beats having to waste my life managing the aforementioned items. I'm surprisingly lazy -I love my relaxation time.

    Thanks for the info, guys.

I happen to have a washer (no dryer) in my room but I haven't been happy with the results or with having to dry outdoors, so I thought I'd give this a try.

    Thanks again!

Usually, the longer you wait between "loads", the bigger the next "load" will be. So I guess there is no predefined amount.

Quick Tip: Dont move into a complex that does not have washers and dryers. (Unless you plan on using the guard shack method for 20 months).
