Thread: Basic Science dean search

Just curious if there have been any developments on finding a new dean. Has there been any sort of search committee established? When do we think a new dean could be hired?

I did not know AUC needed a dean, but I am bet Dr. L (originally from Duke) on Saba who taught Pathology at AUC a year and a half ago would make a good dean.

Why are you so worried about finding a new dean? What's wrong with Dr. Y? She's probably about the most student-oriented dean you could ask for.

Did I say worried anywhere in my post? No. Dr. Y is an interim dean. I know AUC was supposedly forming a search committee for a permanent dean. I am just wondering if any progress has been made in the search.

Dr. Y would do a good job as well, she has been there since the dawn of time and is an advocate for the students. Plus, she is good with numbers. Most likely, the hard part is forking over the funds. I wonder if they ever realized that usually, you get you pay for.

OK Ok let me finish my residency and Ill come back and be dean. I know I could do just as good as the past few. I also like gold so I think it would be a good fit.

Seriously, who needs a new dean? Dr. Y's just about as perfect a dean as you could as for- and her word goes cause she has been there so long...
