Thread: VERY Important tips for Block 1 Exam

I know that everyone has bent over backwards to get ready for the first block exam of the semester.



Some of you are feeling like your head is not where it should be at this point.



While others of you are feeling quite confident.




Nobody has a distinct advantage over anyone else here at AUC.



Everyone here is under the same great deal of pressure.



Just remember that nobody has tied you down and forced you to do this. This was all your decision.



Try to make the right decisions.



Keep your eyes on the goal. We will get there eventually. Just ask those who have gone before us and whose footsteps we follow in.

Your hard work will have great rewards.




After the exam, if this is your friend, pat him on the back and congratulate him on a job well done.



If your friend has gone down in flames, be sure to give them encouragement and let them know that there will always be another test.



Whatever you do, do not ridicule someone who has not done as well as you.



If all goes well, you will make it to 5th, (6th or 7th for some) and get to do the genital exams.

No matter what, always understand that we are all very fortunate for the opportunity to become doctors. There are many less fortunate that did not make it into medical school. If your friends look like they are feeling down, help them to put a smile on their face.

I think the post is good, but if people are too stressed out to be on VMD, they probably wont see it until after the block.

I am puzzled by the response to my post by CaptainInsaneO. I must be missing something.

Do I need to get a life??

I have been married to a beautiful woman for over thirteen years and have beautiful, wonderful and healthy children.

I have had the opportunity to serve in the US Military during a time of War.

I have the opportunity to become a doctor and my chances of success are close to 100% now.

I have owned my own business, two houses, several very nice cars and a nice motorcycle.

What am I missing out on?

If you are implying that I spend too much time on value md, you might look at your over 550 single sentenced negative posts compared to my 68 somewhat entertaining and informative posts.

It is good for you, CaptainInsaneO, that AUC does not use medical school interviews to screen out (less than nice people) (edited) such as yourself. You might make it through the basic science portion of medical school, but your negative attitude will not be appreciated as much once you get to your clinical rotations.



Being a (less than nice person) (edited) will only serve to limit your future opportunities......Doctor Monkey

Great advice Doctor Monkey! I am in for January 2009 just waiting for my letter. I'll be sure to heed your words closely and with wisdom.

As a side note, if I had a monkey (whether or not he was a doctor) I would most likely call him Bangerang...just seems like a really good monkey name.

I am off the island, but still found the post rather entertaining. Good luck with the first round of exams, all y'all and as we used to say, "May the PASS be with you".
