I have no idea where to start looking...
Solutions doesnt seem to be the right place to start.

510 points The best way is to go through the classifieds on this site. A lot of students sub-lease on here.

Living it up in London!!
Here are some other suggestions too:
1) The auc Housing office has a list of Apartments.
2) There are a few local Realtors who work for reputable agencies like Century 21 who can help - you can also get this info from the Housing Office
3) Go to the Cupecoy Beach club office and find out if anything is available.
4) The Community Relations/Immunologist might have a few suggestions too.
5) Ask around at local businesses like Suger Cane Cafe.
6) The Summit Hotel is near Campus and they rent to students.
The housing office list is probably the best place to start, but not always up to date. ValueMD classifieds are also a good place to look. It seems like the best places wind up being listed on here sooner or later.

510 points 2 days before the semester begins, or thereabout. There were actually people in my class who came to the island less than a week before school started, without housing. All of them found somewhere to live, and a couple even got lucky and landed nice places in CBC. It is not easy to find great housing, but it's very easy to find housing. Worse comes to worse, just head over to solutions. They're not perfect, but it could be much worse.

515 points If you are a current first semester, your best bet is to ask fifth semesters. I know of at least 4 apartments that will be available in Dec, three of them possibly available sooner.
If you're off island, check the classifieds here, and look at the housing office list.
Suffering is optional.
510 points In addition to fifth semesters, you can always hang around after the Academic Appeals Committee reviews students who appeal academic dismissal, they often have good places. Although, I suppose that is a bit like using the obituaries in New York to scope out an apartment.

510 points All right... So the general consensus here is that housing on the island is plentiful, and I shouldnt have a problem moving out of the dorms.
My next question is whether Solutions would be a "terrible" idea, considering the wide variety of locations available.
Here are the pros to Solutions that interest me:
1) Very close to school (Could be a con)
2) Pretty much simplifies the entire process
Is there anything else that I need to know before making a decision on this?
