Yeah Zee Best or believe it or not, Sugar Cane is not bad.

The best places are still on the French side, though.

I like McDonalds in Simpson Bay for breakfast. Sugar Cane is also OK for one of those "comfort breakfasts" we all need time to time.

Zee Best is great; I like the location at Port de Plaisance. The creperie on the lagoon in Marigot is good. There's a neat spot in Grand Case right where the front road meets the main road. The Bagel House in Simpson Bay is good too; right across the street from Dive Safaris and next door to Aldewan.
    Suffering is optional.

La Sucrier is excellent! It's a French bakery with all the goodies! You can get a super cheap loaf of schmancy bread or baguette, along with all the pastries, espresso drinks, quiche, sandwiches, and tiny ornate desserts. There are two: one right next to Fed Ex with a nice deck overlooking the lagoon, and the other is in Marigot just past the second roundabout on that oceanfront road. It's on the opposite side from the fish stalls. It's not a hashbrowns and omelettes type of place, but if you want an amazing pastry or dessert, they definitely deliver. Get there early on the weekends if you want any selection in the loaf bread department (nutty bread = awesome!).

Note: the one on the French side is tastier and has better selection, but the one on the Dutch side is cheaper: no Euro conversion.

Also, Bagel House really went downhill after they changed ownership. They used to have a student discount and the new owner laughed at us when we mentioned we were students. Plus the food wasn't as good n' plentiful. We stopped going after that.
