Thread: Rhapsody?

Does anyone know if Rhapsody music service works on the island? I am inclined to think no, but want to make sure before i cancel my subscription. Thanks

I was actually wondering how bad the net security is in the dorms... if torrent'ing or ftp is a big no-no...

I mean, I know I'm not bringing my movie collection over here but it would be nice to access my movie server at home to dl a few from my collection

the internet is incredibly unreliable at the dorms... when it works, it's really slow.

it will be a long slow experience........why not bring some on an external?

Maybe in january when I'm on break, i have completely exhausted any extra funding for 'toys' till my check comes in

I have the 1024/512 WDSL ($90/m) w/Caribserve and using this in conjunction with a Linksys N Ultrarange Plus router generating 130kbps using a N-capable wireless card in my laptop and at about 20 feet from the router I was able to download 45MB - about 6 songs - from my Rhapsody account into my laptop hd and then to my walkman in 11 minutes.

Yup..... compared with the 7mps cable connection I had...this is "jogging" pace.
Nice name "rock the night".....it would have a wholly different meaning if my wife were w/me.
20 frigging months with a few nights in-between to "rock" when I replenish in California.
