Letters of Rec. From Previous Med School Professors

    Hey guys,

I spent an entire five weeks at Ross and realized that Jurassic Park wasn't the place for me so I withdrew. I applied to AUC since at least there are restaurants and decent beaches, and hopefully not a muddy undrinkable water supply, etc.
I just got a letter from AUC saying that I need to submit two letters of rec from Ross professors to complete my application.

Anyone know how flexible they are about this?
I was only at Ross for five weeks! No way I would be able to get letters from professors.
Anyone have first-hand experience with this situation? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

that is very strange....did they not just treat your application as a new applicant as opposed to a transfer?

Are you even considered a transfer student if you have earned 0 credits? I would think he would be considered a new applicant. Send in a letter from your med school advisory board or whatever from your undergrad institution.

Perhaps calling MEAS and letting them know you are not transferring, but rather starting fresh at AUC. I am sure AUC and Ross have similar entrance requirements.

There were a couple Ross students that started over at AUC in the past two semesters.

    the verdict is in...

Thank you all for your replies.

I applied for first semester, not transfer.

I called the admissions office yesterday and they said that letters of rec are required regardless of how long you were in attendance (in my case only five weeks). I asked the officer if this requirement was a way to stonewall people from coming in from other schools. She was thrown off ballance by the question and of course denied it adamantly.
I was as nice as I could be to her though because she didn't make the rules there, just doing her job.
So I sent requests to former professors who I seriously doubt remember me asking for letters of rec. Talk about awkward!
They must be used to it, though I can't imagine what they would have to say in the letter. "Yes, James was registered in my class...to the best of my knowledge he didn't commit any crimes while here..." lol.

I will post the responses from the profs. that I requested letters from as they come in. Won't be holding my breath, though.

    Have a great break, guys!

    Dean's Letter, Maybe?

Yeah, I think the dean's letter sums up all the details including your academic standing, but not sure as I have never seen one.
