hey all, trying to schedule my flight for this fall and had a few questions...

DO most students go home for thanksgiving or just wait until xmas to go home?

All of you current AUC students, what did u find is the cheapest route?? airline?? dates?? etc

im departing from detroit...was thinking of coming to the island aug 28th or 29th (thurs or fri)

Some students go home for Thanksgiving, but not many since they don't see it fit to give us any kind of Thanksgiving break. You'd probably miss 2 days of class if you went home for it. I went home on the other two weekends last august that we had a Friday off.

Cheapest airline varies by what day you fly. I usually try to fly USAir or Delta (or anything other than American). Unfortunately, I'm stuck flying American for the 4th of July since they were about $100 cheaper than the others. Check out kayak.com for the best prices from all of the airlines that fly here.

most people stay on the island for thanksgiving......we didn't even get the day off last time as i recall so its not like its really a holiday down here

you can really just look through airline websites to find fares and routes. american, usair, continental, delta, jetblue and spirit all have service down here....you'll have to do the legwork on that looking at layovers and prices

I wouldn't bet on going home till christmas
