The Sting Of Rejection

Even though I am planning on coming to AUC ( I have been accepted for the fall), I was still hoping that the last school I applied to in the states wouldnt reject me. Well today, I recieved my final rejection letter from that school. It is pretty crashing feeling when opening the envelope and seeing those evil words of "sorry you werent accepted" . Well, I am going to show all those schools that rejected me how great of a doctor I am going to be . I just wanted to vent.....sorry if this post has no real meaning.. ...

Here I come AUC.......

no offense but.....

i think you would feel a true "sting" if not a rattlesnake bite if the rejection was from AUC itself, because for me and probably many others, it is the last chance outpost in many senses as far as medical education for an American.

I admire and respect AUC and I am really clueless to a great extent on how to proceed if rejected, because although i can easily gain admission to lesser schools, I am not at all certain that that is a wise course to follow.

RE

Dont get me wrong. I am really happy to be going to AUC. I cant wait to start and I know AUC is a great school. However, rejection from anywhere will "sting". I just know people with gpa and mcat scores and appilication strength similar (or even weaker) but they knew people on adimission boards and were able to get and that is what makes it "sting" more. I hate politics, but I understand politics is everywhere and I just need to learn how to use it to my advantage. I am glad I am heading to AUC and I also believe going to AUC will make me a better doctor than if I went somewhere in the states. Here I come AUC.....

rejection

is the drive that motivates most of us to out do, outlast, and outscore them. clinical directors that come here have said that the auc ross and sgu students they work with are more grounded have less attitude and work harder than a lot of the US students in rotations so that is my motivational speech of the day now to get pounded in micro.
peace

AUC rocks

Getting into a US school would be nice but I have no problem going to AUC. This school has been everything I hoped it would be. Anyone considering coming here can be assured that this school will give you the education and opportunity to be a great doctor. The rest is up to us.

PS: Dr. Loukas rocks as well. How's that for a shout out, Dr. L.
