So, from what I gather, you do your cores at AUC affiliated hospitals. For your electives (the rotations you choose based on which residency you want), you can go to any hospital that will accept you?

Yes, but remember there is a limit to electives in one specialty. You can only do 2 of the same elective and you have to the majority of electives in the IM subspecialty. You also are required to do a FP and Neuro elective.
AUC is not the only school that requires the majority of your elective to be done in the IM subspecialty. I forget the exact number of weeks it is, but someone can inform you or you can contact MEAS. I think electives and rotations are the least of your worries, you need to be focusing on passing your basic sciences classes and killing Step 1. Skipper
