these are good and you will need a few extra:
before you travel to sxm: -get a valium rx filled in the states that way you will run on sxm standard time when you get there. time on island will be what you make of it have a ton of patience always remind yourself that the service and attitude are bred from european lineage and know that this is how you would be treated anywhere in europe. once that settles in you will really enjoy your time there until 4th semester when you will count down the days to leave. then 2 years later you will start plotting a return visit

The only comparison of Grenadians and the Brits (former colonial masters) is their nasty attitudes when upset. I might assume SM to be the same. I would say that their African heritage would trump any imposed European governance, as an indication of their behavior. E.g. slow to rise, I'll leave it at that. Disclosure: I am an AmeriBrit.

First impression was really good. The people seem friendly, the dorms are nice (just no internet yet), and it's pretty accessible. I would recommend renting a car at least for the first few days so that you can get familiar with your surroundings. Where are you and your wife living? my wife should be coming down by next semester so we're trying to get ideas on where to find a place.
